A Post-Conference Story

This piece comes from Jennifer Byers at Sibley Public Library.  Jennifer attended the Iowa Library Association Conference this past October, having won a travel stipend from Northwest LSA.  Jennifer relates one of her favorite sessions was about Google Tools.  “…I didn’t realize how many different programs and features are associated with Google.  Besides the search engine that everyone knows about, there’s also Google Calendar,  Docs, Sites,  Talk, and so much more…”

And as a direct result of attending this ILA program, Jennifer added a Google Calendar to Sibley Library’s website.  “…it’s color coded for each staff member and also includes a reservation schedule for our meeting room—very cool.”  The power of conferences past, present, and future—it’s lifelong learning!  Thanks to Jennifer for contributing this piece to EYE-OPENER!
